TRAVEL TIPS

Visitor Information

Visitors' first port of call in downtown Lisbon should be the Ask Me Lisboa welcome center at Terreiro do Paço, where English-speakers offer advice on everything from public transport to booking wine tours and surf classes. There are pamphlets offering all manner of officially approved trips and tours, along with free Wi-Fi. You can also pick up a Lisboa Card here, which offers unlimited travel on public transport as well as discounted or free access to many major tourist attractions. The passes cost €11.50 for 24 hours, €17.50 for 48 hours, or €20.50 for 72 hours. There's also a branch at the airport that's open daily 7 am to midnight, and booths at key spots including Santa Apolónia (daily 8–1 and 2–4), Rossio (Praça D. Pedro IV, 10–1 and 2–6), and across from Mosteiro de Jerónimos in Belém (10–6).
